Sweet, Sweet Summer

Ahhhhhh........

It's offically the start of my fifth summer as a teacher. I have to say, it gets sweeter every year - probably because I work harder every year and this year nearly kicked me off my bum! I'm so grateful for this downtime and I'm already getting excited about next school year. The sky's the limit!

Tonight, summer starts with the sound of my husband cutting the grass. The smell is wafting in through the dining room windows while I type and, oh my goodness, it doesn't get better than this! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, kids are playing out on the street. I'm convinced that heaven must feel like this. I'm just bursting with happiness! We have so many wonderful things to look forward to this summer and I can't wait. Here's our list of summer activities:

1. Go to France (3 weeks in the land of love! Seriously, pinch me.)
2. Go to the Zoo (as many as we can drive ourselves to).
3. Go to DC (this is an if-y one, but I'd love to fit it in).
4. Re-do the kitchen
5. Build a Patio
6. Start National Boards (that one's just for me, but I can't wait!)

and the big kicker...........

7. MAKE A BABY!

(and the phone call from Mom in 5...4...3..2............)

I called her after I wrote the blog, we had a nice long talk. I'm sure we'll talk a lot more about it on our EIGHT HOUR plane ride this week. Yipes!
